"The ancient liturgy, with its poignant symbols and innumerable subtleties, is a prolonged courtship of the soul, enticing and drawing it onwards, leading it along a path to the mystical marriage, the wedding feast of heaven."  Resurgent in the Midst of Crisis: Sacred Liturgy, the Traditional Latin Mass, and Renewal in the Church, Peter Kwasniewski

"What earlier generations held as sacred, remains sacred and great for us too, and it cannot be all of a sudden entirely forbidden or even considered harmful. It behooves all of us to preserve the riches which have developed in the Church’s faith and prayer, and to give them their proper place." - Summorum Pontificum, Pope Benedict XVI

The Traditional Latin Mass, Sunday April 10, 2022

The Traditional Latin Mass will be held on the Second Sunday of Passiontide (or Palm Sunday), on April 10, 2022, at 3:00 pm at the New St. Paul’s Church, 510 W. Roosevelt, Nampa, ID 83686.

Please come, encourage others to attend, and bring a friend!

We will start in the Narthax with already blessed palms and process into the Church. There is no blessing of palms or grand procession from outside the Church because that will be done at an earlier Mass and can only be done once at the principal Mass, so we will start singing Ingrediente instead of the outside procession music.

There will be Hospitality in Marist Hall after Mass!  This will help preserve quiet and decorum in the Narthex.  Mary Strow is coordinating this effort, and all are encouraged to bring something, as she is continues to be very busy.  If you wish to help, please contact her at marystrow@gmail.com.

Please also be aware of and join folks in the monthly rosary at the state capitol every second Saturday (10AM, Nov 13 this month) for the intentions of our country, state, and families in these troubled times.

Pope Francis has called on all members of the Church to contribute to a Synod to take place in Rome in 2023. Contributions are sought on where the Holy Spirit is guiding the Church.

At the same time testimonials have been requested by the 'Mothers of Traditional Priests' who are walking from Paris to Rome to present their concerns to the Holy Father.

Catholics attached to the Traditional liturgy should not allow their voices to be forgotten. Una Voce International calls on all member associations and supporters all over the world to make brief and polite contributions before the deadline of Ash Wednesday: 2nd March 2022.

Here's a link for a signup genius form for items for the social hour.  As I've noted in the event description, if people are bringing a warm dish it would be great if they could also bring a crockpot or some other way to keep it warm by plugging it in. We don't have access to a stove or oven. People with food allergies etc are encouraged to bring dishes to make sure they have something to eat! Also, could someone bring napkins, disposable plates & utensils and cups? I brought them last time.

Thanks,

 Mary
